A 10-minute short film produced for the Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary located on Lake Victoria in Uganda. The sanctuary was established in 1998 to care for rescued chimpanzees, educate the general public to the plight of chimpanzees, and assist members of the local island communities.

A 6-minute short film produced for the Kireka Home for Children with Special Education Needs located on the outskirts of Kampala, Uganda. There are approximately 65 children at the Home dealing with both physical and mental disabilities including cerebral palsy, autism, downs syndrome, and varying degrees of mental retardation.

"Bernie" is a feature length documentary about filmmaker Jay Heyman's grandfather. Grandpa Bernie grew up in the Hebrew Orphan Asylum in New York City and later returned to the same institution as a professional social worker. Amidst professional success, Bernie suffered through the premature loss of loved ones, yet moved forward to create new relationships with a contagious ethusiasm that lasted almost ninety-seven years.
